Sophie will be transfered to Primary Children's Hospital this morning. We will update you when we have news to share with you. The reason she is being transfered is that Davis Hospital feels that they have accomplished all that they could do for her. She is still having difficulties with sucking, swallowing, and breathing at the same time. Thank you for all the prayers, you have offered in her behalf. We feel good about this transfer, and know that she will be cared for as well as she was at Davis. We thank each of the doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and any others that have cared for our beautiful Sophie. We will continue to "Go Forth With Faith". Grandma Welch
From Jenefer - Stephen and Grandpa Welch gave Sophie a beautiful blessing Monday night. This was the same day that Sinthya and Stephen had to consider transferring Sophie to Primary Children's Hospital. There is a lot of emotions with Sinthya and Stephen in this decision making. In some ways this will make things a little more challenging and in other ways this is a good thing. So it's tough to make the decision. It flashes myself back the time when Jamy and I had to decide whether or not to put Gabby through surgery to correct her kidney problems. At the time she was so young! We chose to wait for a year...a VERY LONG YEAR! And then we did the surgery when she was 2 years old. That was a very hard thing to do. Even after the surgery my confidence was so high for Gabby's recovery that when she actually succeeded from the surgery we were so happy that Primary Children's Hospital is "just in our backyard."
Sinthya and Stephen, please be reminded of how many of us are praying for Sophie, but also be reminded that we are all praying for you, Stephen and you, Sinthya! We love you both and want you to be able to bring a healthy Sophie home! We know that this has been a tough challenge for you to go through, but we also have tremendous faith in all of you. We support you and are waiting for more news and waiting for things that we can do to help you all!
WE LOVE YOU SINTHYA, STEPHEN AND SOPHIE!!
