Mommy and grandma were taught how to put the braces on Sophie's hands. Cindy, the occupational therapist showed us how to do therapy on her wrists, and on her feet, to strengthen her muscles. The braces are bright pink with velcro to hold them on. She cried when they were put on the first time, but after that she seems to think they are okay. She wears them for 1 1/2 hours at a time and then they are taken off to give her hands a rest.
Sophie had 54 cc's at the 6:00 pm feeding, when she reaches 55 cc's and is able to swallow and keep the milk down the IV will come off. Yahoo!!!!!!
Sophie is sucking better on her pacifier. Her little jaw needs to exercise and not be so stiff, so the sucking will help that too.
Mom and Dad visited with Sophie at the 9:00 am feeding, and both able to hold her. They love their little Sophie very much. As do we all. She is so beautiful. She is smiling and moving her hands and feet. She is 1 week old today.... Sophie is wearing onesies to help her keep warm. Sophie grandpa, grandma, abuela and abuelo, LOVE YOU VERY MUCH... We went to the logan Temple yesterday and put your names on the prayer role. Sounds like she is gaining a little bit each day. Love to you.
